The most influential art photographer of the 20th century, Evans has been identified primarily as a photographer of the US South working for the FSA during the Depression. However, Evans made many of his earliest images as an artist in the Hudson Valley, developing a distinctive panoramic vision. Dr. Ray Sapirstein teaches 19th- and 20th-century cultural history, visual studies. Cosponsored by the Albany Institute of History and Art, the New York State Museum and the Archives Partnership Trust.
